1. Product Information and Ordering

Where can I find a sizing guide?

Size Guides are linked to from each of the products and can also be located via a link at the bottom of the page. These charts cover Men, Ladies, Children and hats.

How can I confirm stock before ordering?

Assume all items are in stock or readily available unless marked as 'out of stock' on the web site. In the unlikely event of you ordering an item we cannot immediately supply, you will be informed within one working day.

How do you clean dirt and sweat stains from Barmah hats?

The best option is to use Nikwax or Grangers Suede/Nubuck cleaner (normally for footwear) and the re-proof with their products.

Which Barmah hats have a chin strap?

Only the Barmah canvas Drover hat has a chin strap.

What is the size and volume of Aquapure bottle?

700ml is the capacity. It stands about 22cms high, 8cms in diameter and weighs 142 grams empty.

How does Aquapure bottle work?

It uses iodine in an initial purification process. The next process, which is the primary filtration system, is a .3 micron filter which filters out the remaining bacteria and viruses. The water then passes through a charcoal core which filters out all tastes and odours (which gets rid of the iodine taste residues) and then it is then passed through an ion charged core which attracts out any remaining bacteria and viruses. It is one of the most advanced filtration systems to date filtering out 99.99% of waterborne bacteria and viruses.

2. Delivery

What delivery method do you use in UK?

Within the UK our norm is to post orders by Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery.

What are normal delivery times for in-stock items in UK?

Our normal delivery would be to post in-stock items within 2 - 3 working days (often next day if trouser alterations are not involved), 1st class recorded mail.

What is the cost of delivery to address outside UK?

To calculate the cost you will need to process your order through our web site to the point after it requests 'country of delivery'. The order total will then give you the cost of the order with P&P separately shown.

Can you send next day delivery? What does this mean?

Within the UK our norm is to post orders by Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery. For an extra charge we can upgrade to 'next day before 1pm' or courier. This does not indicate that you will receive your order the next day after you place the order but indicates you will be guaranteed delivery the day after our normal posting standard of 'up to 3 days for in-stock items'. We always attempt to post items the working day after the order is placed. In order to take advantage of 'next day' or courier service you will need to order using Secure Trading as PayPal do not have an additional charge facility.

3. Payment

How does my discount voucher work? Can I pay by cheque in UK?

Yes, complete your order and select Cheque as your payment method. Paying by cheque will result in a delay while the cheque clears and another delay if a refund becomes necessary and a cheque has to be raised at this end.

Can you supply a VAT invoice for my order?

Yes, a VAT invoice can be provided but you will need to email your name and order number with the request to email you a VAT invoice.

How do you refund VAT for non-VAT areas?

At the moment we do not have orders which differentiate between VAT and non-VAT areas and so all non-VAT areas are treated by an immediate refund of VAT portion against original card payment.

4. Returns and Exchanges

Christmas returns policy

We allow a greater leeway for purchases by customers during December up to Christmas. We expect any returns to reach us within 30 days or before Friday 11th January 2010, whichever date is the latest.

Returned goods - how long will my refund take?

All goods returned are thoroughly checked to comply with our returns policy. Thereafter a returns note is processed by accounts and a credit refunded to the card of the original order. The whole process should not take longer than a few days, depending on volumes.

How do I exchange an item?

You can return for exchange within 30 days. Click on Returns and Exchanges Form to download the form. Print off this form (which gives all the information that you need) and include within your returns parcel. Please return all items in sale condition and with original labels and packaging.

How do I return an item for a refund?

SafariGear has made every effort to ensure that all products sent to you are of the highest quality and we are certain you will be pleased with your purchase. However, if you need to return anything please use this Returns and Exchanges Form. Item(s) must be returned within 14 days for a refund or within 30 days for exchange. Print off this form (which gives all the information that you need) and include within your returns parcel. Please return all items in sale condition and with original labels and packaging.

5. Miscellaneous

Do you have a catalogue to send out?

Our internet web site is our only point of sale and we do not have a hard copy catalogue to send out.

Can I visit your premises to try on items?

Our lease agreement authorizes us to trade from our premises as an internet retailer without customers visiting the premises.

Can I purchase a gift voucher for Safarigear goods?

We are unable to supply either hard copy or e-copy gift vouchers at present but are working on the secure technology to allow us to progress to this service in the future.

Out of stock items - when are they coming in?

Please assume that 'out of stock' items will be several weeks in arriving.

How can we 'Link Exchange' with Safarigear?

Please send us information about your company to enquiries@safarigear.co.uk. We will let you know if it fits with our safari operator link policy.

Can we order something not on your site?
